"Pirates of Ile de la Torture Haiti" The summer workshop series is our highlighted media covered event. These classes culminate with the student’s participation in the Annual Junior West Indian Labor Day Parade, which launches the larger West Indian Parade with nearly 2 million attendees. With great pride the F.O.R kids dance company and cultural program’s participants strut the streets of Brooklyn showcasing dances, music and costumes from Haiti. “Proud smiles and words of encouragement came from adults and children who warmed to the troupes of tikes sporting Haitian costumes as they danced to Haitian music”, states Haitian Times newspaper.

F.O.R. kids’ cultural program “Konbit” is to preserve the rich culture of Haiti by educating and exposing children the Haitian culture through the performing arts. We want to enhance the lives of young people by providing the opportunity for them to learn about the various aspects of Haitian culture that are indigenous to Africa. In Haiti, “Konbit” is collaborated work among a group of people to reach one goal. The Konbit cultural workshop program intends to make visible the Haitian-American contributions to America’s living and diversified cultural heritage. Since its founding in 1995 by Nadia Dieudonné the program has continually sought to enhance the lives of young people by providing cultural workshops in the fields of Haitian dance and songs, as well as exposure to history, arts & crafts in the making of the traditionally adorned costumes in a series of 8 week workshops held three times a year. The Konbit program is a non for profit organization.
